Overview
The Intended goal of Sankaku (三角) is to combine the simplistic charm of a Vanilla+ modpack with the captivating brutality of a hardcore modpack.
The most radical deviation from minecraft's original gameplay loop is the complete removal of all functionality related to beds. In Sankaku, beds are decorational blocks. The night is unavioidable and challenging, but rewards the player for their endurance. Respawn points can be managed by use of naturally generated respawn obelisks, and vast distances can be crossed by use of waystones. This system also provides additional incentive to create transportation systems.
Death is much less punishing in Sankaku than in the base game. Players are allowed to keep most of their tools and weapons, and other items are placed inside a permanent gravestone. This gravestone can be located easily with a grave compass which is given to the player after they respawn.

Known issues
- the crazy cave generation does not always play nicely with underground structures. i'm working on a fix for this.
- iron shield randomly stops working. the wooden shield is a cheap alternative
- the main menu
- flint shards are practically invisible in snowy biomes, which makes the early-game a lot more tedious if you spawn there
- have not implemented an arachnophobia mode yet. not entirely sure if it is necessary. if someone complains, i'll do it
- zombies were previously unable to swim. now, they can... traverse(?) bodies of water. don't ask how i fixed it. i don't wanna talk about it.
Useful gameplay info
Intended early game -
You can't punch trees. deal with it.
How to deal with it: collect the necessary materials to craft an axe.
- get three plant fibers. break grass.
- get one stick. sticks can be found on the ground. or, break leaf blocks.
- get one flint. flint shards can be found on the ground, or, craft flint by using the crafting recipe which requires 3 gravel.
now, craft 1 string by inserting 3 plant fibers into your 2x2 crafting grid. then, combine all of these materials (string, flint, stick) in your 2x2 crafting grid to make a flint axe. you can search for the flint axe recipe, but it's not rocket science.
optional, but highly recommended:
- create a lantern and equip it in your belt slot. it'll cost you 8 iron ingots and a torch. do this asap
- make a wooden kite shield as early as possible. even if you decide to use a two-handed weapon, you should keep a shield in your hotbar or your back slot/belt slot
- make your base near a respawn obelisk. this should be a no-brainer. make a railway to the nearest waystone if possible. powered rail speed boost is twice as fast as it is vanilla.
