Hollowing Demise

Hollowing Demise adds a new twist to dying: When a player dies, they become a hollow: a spirit that has an essence meter instead of a hunger bar. Essence is gathered by collecting experience and can be spent to recover health similarly to Hollow Knight. Default keybind is [R].

A field of monsters from the perspective of a weakened spirit about to die. Shows a blue health bar and an essence meter in place of food. The perspective of a spirit recovering lost health using gathered essence.

Hollows can also spend essence to become ghosts, which allows them to evade danger. When a hollow is not in ghost form, it burns in daylight. Default keybind is [G].

To return to life, look for almarite: a new ore used to make the totem of restoration.
